Buckminster's fullerene is also known as the
bucky ball.
A bucky ball resembles a sheet of
graphene
closed to make a hollow ball , but the carbon atoms may be in
Pentagons
as well as hexagons.
Bucky balls have
potential uses
as lubricants with the molecules acting like tiny ball bearings.
The small size of bucky balls allow them to pass through
cell membranes.
They might one day deliver medical drug directly for the cells.
