• The Colaition agreement included a referendum on

  AV as a compromise. The Conservatives wanted to

  keep FPTP where as the Lib Dems wanted AV
• 68% voted to keep FPTP.

  Only 42% of the electorate turned out.
• Result

  FPTP continues to be used in GEs and that is now

  unlikely to be changed soon.
