    Nazi beliefs about women:
    the nazis disagreed with excessive use of makeup, instead instructing women to have a natural look (plain & long skirts, tied back hair, etc). women were also discouraged from employment, as their role was to be a wife & mother. the nazis wanted to increases population, which is one reason they felt so strongly about women staying home.

    the slogan 'kinder, küche, kirche' ('children, kitchen, church') was used in various propaganda to encourage women to focus on the home to become good germans. they eventually also introduced laws to restrict women in the labour force. the nazis banned women from holding certain jobs of importance in 1933. they also banned girls from attending grammar schools in 1937.

    to encourage women to start families, the nazis provided loans of 1,000 reichsmarks to couples who were married with the wife being removed from the labour force. divorce laws were also reviewed to state that a man could divorce his wife if she couldn't bear children. rewards were also offered to mothers who had 4+ children; receiving an award was prestigious. in 1935, SS leader, himmler, began the lebensborn programme, which encouraged children to be born to SS men to create aryans.
