  • Atrial Natriuretic Hormone:
    • peptide hormone stored in cardiomyocytes, particularly in the right atrium and are released when high blood pressure ruptures the cardiomyocytes
    • released when blood pressure is high - hypertension, unlike all the other hormones which are released during hypotension
    • acts on arterioles to caused vasodilation -> decrease in TPR -> decrease of BP
