  • Geography influenced the Greek city states by: Mountains made unification difficult, so ancient Greeks formed separate City-states instead of forming a civilization under one government. Mountains also protected ancient Greeks since foreigners found it hard to attack.

  • Monarchy changed to oligarchy because aristocrats realized that together as a group, they were stronger than the king and wanted a share of his power. 
    Oligarchy changed to tyranny because the poor asked tyrants to help them remove the oligarchs from power using their soldiers.
    Tyranny changed to democracy because people drove tyrants from power, because they wanted power divided among all the people.
  • Athens and Sparta comparison in Education : Sparta focuses more on teaching about strength and strength, also war. While Athens on the other hand, focuses on both book learning and strength.
  • Athens and Sparta comparison in Government: In the Athenian government, women and slaves weren’t permitted citizenship. Every citizen of Athens could participate in the city’s government, but only 500 were chosen to serve the council. (Democracy) But in the Spartan government, the “Council of Elders” were the ones who made important decisions. The council of elders consisted of 2 kings and 28 other men. The council of elders had the real power in sparta. (Oligarchy)

Alexander the Great was someone who achieved many things that aren't commonly seen in history, and someone who has made a big change in history both positively and negatively. Alexander the Great was the king of the Ancient Greek kingdom of Macedon.
