Different views about mission

• The Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) 


  God speaks directly to the heart of people and so evangelism is wrong as it interferes with God's work in the lives of individuals
• The Salvation Army

  • mission is serving the poor and needy
  • although they do evangelise, they focus on caring for the homeless and looking after the most vulnerable members of society
• The Exclusive Brethren

  • small denomination who believe the whole world is contaminated by sin
  • In order to be saved, they must cut themselves off from mainstream society
  • God wants them to separate from others so mission is impossible
