    • Making an element stand out in a work
    • Created by contrast or extreme changes
  • Harmony:
    • Blending elements in a pleasing way
    • Combining similar elements in an artwork to accent their similarities
  • Movement:
    • Leads the viewer to sense action in a work
    • Rhythm is the repeating of an element to make a work seem active
  • Gradation:
    • Combining elements using gradual changes
    • Ordered step-by-step change
  • Variety:
    • Combining elements to create interest
