• Monounsaturated fatty acid - contains only one double bond
• Unsaturated lipid - at least one double bond between two carbons, leaving room for more hydrogens
• Saturated lipid - all carbon atoms are bonded to hydrogen
• Phospholipids - have a phosphate group attached to glycerol molecule
