  • Parliament is made up of 3 parts:
    1.     The House of Commons
    2.     The House of Lords
    3.     The Monarch 
  • They work on behalf of the general population to examine and challenge the government’s plans (scrutiny), amend and pass all laws (legislation) and debate important issues.  
  • The UK Parliament has a bicameral system meaning that both Houses are involved in making and agreeing new legislation 
  • Government refers to the Prime Minister, Cabinet and their junior minsters/officials who are drawn from the winning political party.
  • Government
    -   They are responsible for the day to day running of the country and tasks such as choosing how to spend public money and taxes
