• +   Time saving – quicker to pass and amend that acts of parliament 
• +   Flexibility – can be easily amended and revoked 
• +   Allows parliament to focus on wider issues over details
• +   Expertise – allows for someone with specialist/local knowledge 
• -    Takes law making away from the democratically elected government 
• -       Large volume of delegated legislation can make understanding present law difficult 
• -       Sub-delegation – law making handed down to a further level (Unelected civil servants)
