Hooke's Law

Cards (4)

  • Elastic is the ability for a material to regain shape after deforming forces are removed.
  • Hooke’s Law:
    F=k*e
    F is force in N
    K is the spring constant in newtons per metre. N/m
    E is in the extension in meters, m
    Extension = measured length – original length
  • The limit of proportionality is a point beyond which behaviour no longer conforms to Hooke’s law.
  • The elastic limit is a point which the spring will no longer return to its original shape when the force is removed.
