• educate children (wrong message about life is given)
• Worship God (violates "before i formed you in the womb i knew you" Jeremiah 1:5)
• Aquinas would see embryonic research as murder
• sanctity of life
• the genetic blueprint of a person is present at conception: a human is an individual person at that point
• imago dei- 'made in the image of God':

  • human reproduction is not to be tampered with
  • violates 'ordered society' precept
