Divisions of the Nervous System

  A bunch of axons that extend from our brain to the bottom of our back and transfer information.

  bones that in-case the spinal cord as protection from damage
• Information traveling to the brain goes up the spinal cord and information traveling from the brain goes down.
• The nervous system is divided between 2 systems called the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system.
• What is the nervous system?

  The network of all the neurons in the body.
• What is the central nervous system?

  The parts of the nervous system that are located within the skull and spinal cord.
• what is the Peripheral nervous system?

  the parts of the nervous system outside of the skull and spinal cord.

  increases bodily activities

  keeps the body active and alert
• What does the Parasympathetic nervous system do?

  Decrease bodily activities

  Keeps body rested and saving energy
