• have sth/sb in mind = know the type of thing/person you want for particular purpose
• rush (a)round = try to do sth or a lot of things in a short space of time
• (all) hot and bothered = feeling anxious and under pressure
• wound up = anxious and worried
• call for sb = meet sb at their home in order to take them somewhere
• bags of sth = a lot of sth
• chat away = talk in a relaxed way
• get round to (doing) sth = find the time to do sth
• as far as I can/could tell = used to say that you think sth may be true but there may be facts you do not know
• blind date = a meeting between two people who have never met to spend some time together and see if a romantic relationship develops
• make an impression (on sb) = make sb notice and admire you
• be a bundle/bag of nerves = be very nervous
• snap out of it = stop being unhappy, upset, etc.
• come out of you shell = be less shy and more confident with people
• and the like = and similar things
• fly by = if a period of time flies by, it passes very quickly
• be on the cards = be likely to happen
