  • A web page is a digital document that is accessible through the Internet using a web browser
  • Web pages are usually written in Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) and can be accessed by URL address on the Internet or other network using a web browser
  • Web pages can be categorized according to its type or purpose:
    • Advocacy: seeks to influence people's opinion
    • Business: promotes a product or service
    • Educational: provides factual information about a topic
    • News: provides information on current events in local, regional, national, or international settings
    • Personal: consists of personal expression, often dealing with hobbies, pastimes, literature, and opinion articles
    • Entertainment: includes music, videos, games, and other activities for the user's enjoyment
    • Social: includes websites that allow collaboration and communication
  • Elements of a web page:
    • Page Header: a mini version of the home page at the tops of each page, the most visible component for page identity
    • Search: generally found at the upper right of the header, allows the viewer to do a quick search of a website for other related information
    • Scan Columns: found at the left part of the web page to arrange navigation links, often used for placing contact information, search boxes, and other minor elements
    • Content Area: where the primary content is located, whether it is text, images, videos, or embedded content related to the topic of the website
    • Page Footers: keeps the organization and legal matters of the page, includes page author, copyright information, contact information, or other navigation links

    • Make it user-friendly

    • Use high-quality content
    • Pick the right typeface
    • Ask someone to give constructive criticism of your work
