Is there any elevation or depression of the ST-Segment:
ST elevation is usually caused by completeocclusion of a vessel, which has caused cardiac necrosis, which is a rise in troponin, resulting in myocardial infarction
ST depression is a partialocclusion of a vessel, causing cardiac necrosis (rise in troponin), but if there is no necrosis, the ECG would show angina
ST segment:
ST Segment depression – think either ischaemia (angina) or Non-ST elevated myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) - is angina if there is no necrosis/no rise in troponin
ST Segment elevation – ST elevated myocardial infarction (STEMI)
