human reproductive system

• male reproductive system - consist of a number of sex organs that are part of the human reproductive process. it produces, stores, and releases the male gametes or sperm
• testes produces sperms also known as testicles and gonads
• vas deferens transports mature sperm to the urethra
• epididymis where the sperm mature
• seminal vesicles attached to the vas deferens, produces a sugar rich fluid that provides energy to sperm
• prostate gland makes fluid
• urethra is a tube that carries urine from the bladder to outside of the body also carries sperm out of the body
• testis - produces sperm cells
• scrotum - the sac that holds the testes and is covered by skin
• penis - deposits sperms into vagina during mating
• vas deferens - carries sperm from testis to urethra
• urethra -carries sperm and urine out of the body
• glands - provide liquid in which sperm can swim
• seminal vesicle - secretes fluid that makes up most of the components of semen
• prostate gland - secretes a slightly alkaline milky fluid that is discharged as part of the semen
• bulbourethral gland - lubricates and nutrializes the any trace of acidic urine in the urethra
• vagina - canal that joins the cervix to the outside of the body, also known as the birth canal
• uterus - hollow organ that is the home to a developing fetus
• ovaries - produce eggs and hormones, oval shaped glands that are located on either side of the uterus
• fallopian tube - tunnels for the egg cells to travel fom the ovaries to the uterus, where the fertilization happens
