Genesis

• Day 1 - God created the Heavens and the Earth. Created light and dark
• Day 2 - Created the sky. Separated sky and ocean/water
• Day 3 - Created dry land, sea, and vegetation
• Day 4 - Made the sun, stars, and the moon
• Day 5 - created birds/sea creatures
• Day 6 - Made animals and humans
• Day 7 - rested. made this day a Holy day. why shops don't open/only work reduced hours on Sundays
• GENESIS THEORY:

  • god created the world from nothing (ex nihilo) and used speech. he took 6 days to make everything (day 7 rest)
  • how humans came to be: god made them "in his image" on day 6 (Genesis 1:26)
  • purpose of humans = God creates humans and gives them instruction to multiply (have children). Genesis 1:26 says that humans are to rule over animals
