  • What is CBT?
    CBT is a psychological treatment for depression and is based on both behavioural and cognitive techniques.
  • What does CBT aim to do?
    It aims to turn irrational beliefs into rational beliefs. It aims to make the client aware of the relationship between thoughts, emotions and actions. It also aims to alter maladaptive thoughts and what they do. It gets the client to a point where they can work out their own ways of tackling their problems.
  • What does CBT focus on?
    CBT focuses on the 'here and now' instead of the past.
