Volume of prisms and cylinders

Cards (7)

  • To find the volume of a cone, we need to know the radius (r) and the slant height (l).
  • volume of a prism = cross section x depth
  • Cross section = face you can cut through and it will look like the same every time
  • Surface area of a cylinder = pi x diameter x height
  • Volume of a cylinder = pi x radius (squared) x height
  • Surface area of a triangular prism = area of 2 triangles + area of 3 rectangles
  • Volume of triangular prisms = area of cross section x area
