• Acute Coronary Syndromes

  • includes the 3 over-lapping conditions of unstable angina and acute myocardial infarction (MI is split into STEMI and NSTEMI)
  • All 3 of these pathologies have one thing in common and that is:
  • A vulnerable plaque ruptures ->
  • Triggers a coagulating event and thrombus formation ->
  • Resulting in significant coronary artery obstruction
