Tearfund: A Christian charity that provides emergency and long-term aid to the developing world to help communities to become more self-reliant, such as education, new farming equipment.
CAFOD: Catholic Agency for Overseas Development. Works with local organisations to train, supply and support communities to work their own way out of poverty. During conflicts and disasters, gives food, water and shelter.
Campaigning: Putting pressure on those in power by lobbying, sending petitions and peaceful protest.
Fairtrade Movement: Farmers and producers are paid a fair price for their good, resulting in better wages. They also provide housing and education.
