• East Asia covers 28% of Asia and one of the most populated place in the world. About 22% of the world lives in East Asia.
• East Asia comprises high mountains, Highlands, bountiful deltas, long & immense rivers, etc.
• China consists of China Proper and Greater China
• China proper is sometimes called the "8 provinces" or "Middle Kingdom"
• Han Chinese is the largest ethnic group in the world
• Japan is made up of 4 large islands: Kyushu, Shikoku, Honshu and Hokkaido
• Southern islands of Japan are more mild and tropical
