  • Cells have nuclei
  • Cell walls made from chitin
  • Do not photosynthesize
  • Feed by saprophytic or parasitic
  • Eg; moulds,mushrooms,yeast
• Protoctists

  • Some unicellular some Multicellular
  • Either free or living parasitic
  • Have aerobic respiration involving mitochondria
  • True nucei
  • Reproduce both sexually and asexually
  • Eg; amoeba,paramecium,plasmodium
• Prokaryotic

  • Single celled organisms
  • Smaller than eukaryotic
  • Don't have a membrane bound nucleus
  • Maybe pathogenic or saprotrophic

  • Eg; bacteria
