    • Provide protection and a large area for muscle attachment.
    • E.G. Cranium, sternum and ribs.

    • Mainly provide protection and support.
    • E.G. Pubis and vertebrae.
  • sesamoid bones
    • These are small bones held with tendons and include the patella (knee cap).
