Formation of tissue fluid

Cards (5)

  • blood passes from arterioles Into narrow carpillaries ( hydrostatic pressure created due to pumping action of heart ) - forces fluid out through capillary walls which bathes all cells
  • tissue fluid collects carbon dioxide from tissues and gives them glucose
  • tissue fluid how materials exchanged with blood and cells of body
  • most tissue fluid passes back into venules by osmosis - proteins in plasma which didn’t pass through cause oncotic pressure ( water potential lower in vessels ) so draws Water back into blood
  • fluid which doesn’t return via osmosis passes into open ended lymph capillaries at which point it’s know as a lymph
