• matter is anything that occupies space and has mass
• fluid is a gas or liquid, they able to flow
• solids, liquids, and gases are states of matter
• solids have fixed volume, high density, definite shape, and doesnt flow
• liquid has fixed volume, low density, takes the shape of its container but not change it's own shape, flows slowly
• gas has no fixed volume, very low density, can take any shape, easily compressible, and flows quickly
• solid to liquid is melting
• liquid to solid is freezing
• liquid to gas is evaporation and boiling
• solid to gas and gas to solid is sublimation
• gas to liquid is condensation
• melting point is the temperature at which a solid turns into liquid, same valve as freezing point
• a pure substance has a sharp melting point
• difference between evaporation and boiling?

  Evaporation happens at any temperature, boiling happens at high temperature. Evaporation occurs on top, and boiling occurs in the center
