Controlled Experiment
When the

variable in an

to see the effects it has on the
dependent
variable in the
experiment.
Correlational Study

where the

looks at the relationship between
two variables
Example: Study time and Grades. Smoking and lung cancer.
Observational Study

where researchers
observe
something in order to
gather more information
to
answer a question
