  When the electrical impulse reaches the end of the neurone it releases chemicals.

  These chemicals then diffuse across the synapse and stimulate the next neurone.

  They're automatic and dont involve the concious part of the brain

  Transfer a signal from the receptor to the CNS
• Relay neurone

  Transmits a signal for the sensory neurone to the motor neurone
