• Efficacy - how well the drug works (how good it is at relieving pain)
• Toxicity - have any harmful side effects
• Dosage - how much to give (without side effects)
• Accuracy - if the measurement is judged to be close to the true value
• Repeatable - if the investigation to repeated again the results will be the same
• Reproducible - repeated with different equipment or techniques and same results are obtained
• Valid - a conclusion based on sound reasoning (suitable procedure)
• Precision - the degree to which a measurement is accurate
