• Electromagnetic waves are transverse waves that transfer energy from the source of the waves to an absorber.
• 1. Radio waves - Lowest frequency longest wavelength

  7. Gamma rays - highest frequency shortest wavelength
• EM waves can travel through vacuum (space)
• Waves can change direction when they change speed, moving from one medium to another
• When waves slow down they bend towards the normal line
• When waves speed up they bend away from the normal line
