  • Sub-Types of Ethnic Houses:
    • Bahay Kubo: ethnic house of Christian peasant families in lowland areas, typically owned by low-income groups
    • Houseboat: boat serving as a dwelling, typically inhabited by Badjao or Sama Laur, characterized by an upper-level covering just half of the lower level
  • Split-level House (Philippine Tsalet): suburban house with one story, a two-story house with living quarters on the upper level, or an elevated one-story house
  • Public Buildings and Structures are any structures owned or leased and principally used by a governmental agency for business or meetings
  • Market (Palengke): place or building for buying or selling goods, also known as "Tindahan" or "Tiyangge", evolved form is the mall or galleria
    • Government Buildings: buildings that house branches of government, such as provincial government buildings and municipal government buildings like Kapitolyo (Capitol) and Town Hall (Munisipyo)
  • Schools are places where young people are educated to become productive members of the community, commonly American-influenced concrete structures elevated on stilts
  • Other Forms and Structures:
    • Kamalig: building used for storing grain, economically significant among tribes in northern Philippines
    • Masjid or Mosque: place of worship for Muslims
    • Cemetery: place for burying the dead, may have chapel and vaults or nichos, modern ones are memorial parks
    • Church (Simbahan): place of worship for Christian congregations
    • Movie House (Sinehan): place to watch films or motion pictures
    • Fort (Kuta): structure built to defend a community against enemies
    • Lighthouse (Parola): built on islands, peninsulas, or rocks to ensure safe passage for ships
    • Bridge (Tulay): horizontal structure serving as a passageway over bodies of water, hollow areas, or roads
