• Red Blood Cell - To carry oxygen around the body, it has a large surface area and a thin membrane.
• Nerve Cell - To carry electrical messages between different parts of the body.
• Sperm Cell - A male reproductive cell that carries the male's genetic material to the female's egg.
• Egg Cell - To store food for the developing embryo and carry half of the genetic information.
• Palisade Cell - To provide the plant with food by photosynthesising.
• Guard Cell - To regulate the amount of water a plant loses and allow gas exchange to occur.
• Root Hair Cell - To absorb water and minerals from soil.
• Muscle Cell - To help the body to move.
• Ciliated Epithelial Cell - To move dust and microorganisms away from the lungs.
• White Blood Cell - To fight pathogens that cause disease.
• Phloem Cell - To transport sugar solution around a plant.
• Xylem Cell - To water and minerals around a plant.
