  • semi-skilled choosers: working class parents but with middle class attitudes lack cultural capital and decide on schools based on opinion

  -all state schools should teach shared culture, national curriculum, to socialise pupils into a single culture

  -parents will recieve a voucher to spend at a certain school this would be the schools main source of income

  -real cause of failing schools is not poor teaching but inadequate funding from government

  -education does not impose a shared national culture but the culture of the minority ruling class...they decide what we learn
