    • Priestly represents herself as someone with pride for not taking the money even though she really needed it and was in a vulnerable place

    • Highlights he kind nature and the fact that she appreciated the little help she got .
    • Her character becomes across to be a gentle , loving character which makes her death even more agonising for the reader
