• eyepiece lens x objective lens = magnification
• image / actual = magnification
• image / magnification = actual
• actual x magnification = image
• You can look at living specimens in colour using light microscopes, however not with electron microscopes.
• Electron microscopes have higher resolution and magnification.
• magnification is how much bigger a sample appears to be than it is in real life.
• resolution is the ability to distinguish between two points on an image; the amount of detail.
