• After the death of aurangzeb, a war of succession broke out between his sons where bahadur shah I emerged victorious.
• Bahadur shah I was suceeded by Jahandar shah.
• Around Jahandar Shah’s time, the Sayyid brothers, abdullah khan barha and hussain khan barha emerged powerful in the mughal court.
• The sayyid brothers were also known as the kingmakers.
• Jahandar shah died and Farrukh siyar became emperor with the support of the sayyids
