• Weather - day to day changes in the atmosphere
• Climate - A weather condition at a place over a period of time
• Glacial - Period of cooling
• Interglacial - Period of warming
• National Grid - Connects power stations to buildings to five energy in an area
• Power stations - Where electricity is generated
• Global warming - An increase in the average temperature on earth
• Greenhouse effect - Absorbing radiation and radiating it back towards earth
• Radiation - High energy waves or particles like infrared light from the sun
• Deforestation - Cutting down or burning forests
• Emissions - Producing something and letting it out (Especially gas)
• Sedimentary - Layered rock
• Ice cap - Small body of ice, usually found on mountain tops. These are smaller than ice sheets
• Ice sheet - Large body of ice over 50,000 km2 in an area
• Glacier - Large sheet of ice found in valleys and mountains, usually extending downhill from an ice cap
• Polar desert - Extreme cold climate where there is very little rainfall
• Tundra - Cold desert with low temperatures and little precipitation
