  Claims she could never understand: 'Girls of that class'

  Horrified by Gerald's affair: 'disgusting affair'

  Refused Daisy charity even though pregnant:

  'Not a good case'

  'I did nothing im ashamed of'

  'I used my influence to have it refused'

  Doesn't know her own son and blames him:

  'Go and look for the father of the child,its his responsbilty'

  'He should be made an example off'
• Act three

  Happy,self-centred and no gut when she finds inspector isn't real:

  'Didn't i tell you? didn't i say i couldn't imagine a real police officer talking to us like that?
