  • May include investigations, reports, and activities beyond the scope of basic services
  • Special services that may be provided by the Civil Engineer or negotiated with other firms or sub-consultants could include:
  • Geotechnical engineering
  • Special studies, tests, and process determinations
  • Land surveys and establishment of boundaries
  • Engineering and topographic surveys
  • Value engineering
  • Redesign to reflect changes requested by the client
  • Engineering support services:
  • Involve drafting, land and construction surveying, and other data gathering activities for specialized purposes
  • Academic services:
  • Involve teaching or training of prospective professionals and upgrading knowledge and skills of fellow professionals
  • Services as an Employee:
  • A Civil Engineer may engage to perform duties regularly for wages or salary paid by an employer
  • Civil Engineers must follow the code of ethics and comply with standards and guidelines
  • Government Civil Engineers employed by the Government shall be governed by existing laws and regulations
