• The testes are responsible for producing sperm and testosterone.
• Fertilization occurs when a sperm penetrates through the protective layers surrounding the egg cell and fuses with the egg cell membrane.

• Fallopian tubes - carry eggs from ovaries to uterus
• Ovary - produces eggs
• Vagina - birth canal, carries menstrual blood out of body
• Cervix - connects vagina to uterus
• Endometrium - lining of the uterus that thickens with hormones
• Scrotum - contains testicles
• Epididymis - stores sperm cells
• Testes - produce male sex cells (sperms)
• Penis - the organ that produces sperm and is responsible for the transfer of sperm to the vagina
• Sperm duct - the tube that carries sperm from the epididymis to the urethra.
