    s12 CRA-> covers pre contract info included in contract for supply of goods
    -> before contract becomes binding, the trader must supply the consumer with certain info about: goods/price/delivery/cancellation rights
    -> changes made before entering contract or later is not effective unless expressly agreed between trader and consumer
  • omissions (2)- consumer protection -> unfair trading regulation 2008 // consumer protection regulations 2014
    ->protect consumers from unfair or misleading trade practices as well as banning deceptive omissions
    ->misleading omission - where trader misses out key info consumer may need to know to make an informed decision about the purchase of goods/services
    ->all contractual info must be displayed plainly as any obscure presentations is equal to an omission
  • omissions (3)- consumer protection -> unfair trading regulation 2008 // consumer protection regulations 2014


    regulations make it an offence if
    • trader omits material average consumer would need to make an informed decision
    • hides or provides info in an unclear, unintelligible, unambiguous or untimely manner
    • fails to identify commercial intent if intention not already obvious
