The Snowball Effect = When minority influence has a small effect at first but then grows until it reaches a tipping point. This then leads to wider social change.
The minority have been consistent, committed and flexible - this leads to the majority thinking and deeply processing the minority view.
A small number of the majority may then be converted to this view.
Over time, an increasing number of people join the minority view from the majority view. As the minority gains support, the rate of conversion increases, creating a "snowball effect" where the momentum builds.
Eventually the minority view becomes the majority view and social change has occurred.
