• Concerns of GM crops:

  • Some people say it will affect the number of wild flowers/insects living in GM areas - reducing biodiversity
  • Not everyone thinks they are safe and are worried the full extent of their effects are unknown
  • The transplanted gene may get out into the environment
• Concerns of cloning:

  • Gives a reduced gene pool leading to a risk of extinction
  • Cloned animals may not be as healthy as normal ones
  • Sone people worry humans may be cloned in the future
