Kingdom Animalia

• There are main 5 kingdom: Animalia, Plantae, Fungi, Protoctist, Prokaryotes
• Animals are further grouped into Vertebrates and Invertebrates
• Characteristics of Animal kingdom:

  1. They are multicellular organisms
  2. Cells have a nucleus but no cell walls or chloroplasts
  3. They feed on organic substances made by other living organisms
• Vertebrate animals have backbones
• Invertebrates DO NOT have a backbone
• Invertebrates with jointed legs and exoskeletion are called Arthropods
• Arthropods consist of Insects, Crustaceans, Myriapods and Arachnids
