role of rna

Cards (4)

    • Rna plays an important role in expressing the information contained in the DNA sequence to synthesise polypeptide
    • mRNA– carries a complimentary copy of the DNA sequence for a particular polypeptide from the nucleus to ribosomes in the cytoplasm
    • tRNA- transfers amino acids to the ribosomes, where they are joined form a polypeptide chain based on the sequence of nucleotides in the mRNA
    • rRNA- forms the structural units of ribosomes which is where mRNA is translated into a chain of amino acids
