• NEWTON'S FIRST LAW

  • In the absence of unbalanced forces an object will continue to move in a straight line at constant speed

  IF THERE IS NO RESULTANT FORCE

  • A stationary object remains stationary
  • An object traveling at speed will continue at that speed

  • A resultant force will cause an object to accelerate and that the acceleration is proportional to the size of the resultant

  • Friction is a force that always opposes motion
