Public Facilities

• The word 'facility' comes from Latin 'facile', which means 'easy'.
• Public facilities are those provisions that ease the lives of the public.
• The government provides public facilities to everyone.
• Public facilities are basic requirements for every citizen, they not only make one's life comfortable but also help in acceleration of productivity.
• Examples of public facilities include water, education, power, transportation, and healthcare.
• The government, through the Right to Education Act of 2009, ensured education as a fundamental right for every citizen.
• The Constitution states that water is a fundamental part of Right to Life as per Article 21.
• The Ministry of Power is set up by the government to provide electricity for all, however the demand is difficult to meet.
