tissue fluid

• tissue fluid is fluid that surrounds the cells in a tissue and contains dissolved substances
• tissue fluid is made from substances that leave the blood plasma e.g. oxygen, water, and nutrients
• tissue fluid doesn't contain red blood cells or large proteins because there too large to be pushed out through the capillary walls
• cells take in nutrients and oxygen from the tissue fluid, and release metabolic waste into it
• in a capillary bed ( network of capillaries in a tissue ) substances move in and out the capillaries into the tissue fluid by pressure filtration
