Factors that Influence Population Growth

• Birth rate: more people born increases growth rate of population
• Death rate: more people die lowers growth rate
• Migration: if people migrate to the same place, that area will have a higher growth rate
• Population demographic: high percentage of young ppl = grow faster, more old ppl. = grow slower
• Social attitude: in some cultures it is normal to have a big family
• Economy: a stable economy has more job opportunities (and education) and if there are a lot of employed women, there will be less kids
• Education: with more education opportunities ppl get married later and have less children
• Healthcare: better healthcare increases the growth rate
